RE: gas.... how much more is it really costing you?

I'm not to worried about the price of gas, I just siphoned gas from my neighbors car! :B

RE: Question on valve adjustment on yamaha???

My sons bike always ran great and this last trip it was sputtering in 3rd gear. Any info would help. I'm jealous. I can't get my boy to shift into 3rd. Dave, Why not start him in 2nd and have him shift once into 3rd. Maybe after riding in 3rd awhile he'll get the feel, and like it. Then hopefully you'll be able to teach him to go through all the gears! My son is now on a kx65, (moved up from a TTR90) sometimes he won't shift into 4th! I know what your going through! :)

RE: need help with boat trailer wiring!

I have the 7 pin to 4 pin adapter, I think I connected the wrong wires on the 7 pin coming from the truck I will try what you guys suggested tomorrow. I'll let you know! thanks!

RE: need help with boat trailer wiring!

If you wired a 7 pin plug onto the boat trailer then the brown and green wire are reversed, Check that you have a good ground. Check out this web site http://www.accessconnect.com/trailer_wiring_diagram.htm I have it wired to a 7 on both ends, then I use a 4 pin adapter that plugs into the 7. Do I still need to reverse the brown and green?

RE: need help with boat trailer wiring!

If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you run a white wire battery return/ground wire around to all the lights so you aren't relying on frame ground (white wire and fixtures can still be connected to frame also). This may preclude a lot of future problems. Boat trailers are subject to a lot of connection corrosion from dunkings and washdown. Yeah, thanks. I do have a ground wire connected.:)

RE: need help with boat trailer wiring!

thanks, I'll try both. On the new plug there is a connection that is labeled "red" And I can't remember what color wire I connected to that one. The old plug was so corroded with broken tabs it was hard to read. I wish I would changed each wire one at a time and I probably wouldn't have this problem!

need help with boat trailer wiring!

I had to replace my trailer connection on my '98 chevy 3500. I bought a Hopkins 7-way connector, This is for my boat trailer, so it's a 7 converting to a 4-way. I wired it up according to colored wires coming from the truck and attaching them to the same on the connector. It seems everything is working fine except for when I turn on my headlights -nothing? Brakelights work, turn signals work. I'm stumped! :h Any ideas ?????

RE: Arizona Off-Roaders Kill Their Own Area

The thing that really sucks is the illigal dumping that is probally occuring. I have been to places that people leave furniture, trash, you name it in areas and the off road community has to suffer becouse of it! That stuff so frustrating. We have done clean ups in the areas near Calico and Johnson Valley and the stuff we pulled out of there was terrible. The worse part is that the private property near Johnson Valley is in worse shape than the OHV area. It amazes me when I ride Johnson and get close to private property. I've seen TVs, refrigerators, stoves, burned car frames. It's truly amazing. Us off roaders probably get blamed for the mess by the enviro nuts even though we don't camp or ride in those areas. Althogh I doubt the OHVers put the trash in th eprivate parcels, maybe expanding hte clean-up efforts to those parcels also (with owner consent) woudl go a long way towards making the sheeple see that OHVers do good. The BRC mag had an article about Arizona OHVers collecting tons of trash near 4 peaks? Run the "spell check" once in a while. It makes reading the post much easier :)

RE: Running lights staying on?

Update: well they're still off after 3 days! (that's good). I think it has something to do with the battery cable not being tightened to it's fullest. is there anything that would indicate a problem when the battery cable is fully tightened versus semi-tightened?

RE: Running lights staying on?

Yes, they stay on even when the key is removed! They are my running lights {parking lights}. This just started happening about a week ago. I'm not trying to override anything. I definetly think it's a short somewhere. I now have the neg. battery cable connected {not as tight as before} and for now they are staying off -which is a good thing! I've got to try to figure this out and fix the problem once and for all !

RE: Running lights staying on?

No auto light feature. Thought it might be a relay, but then it would happen all the time - not periodically. I'm wondering if it could be the battery or a ground?

Running lights staying on?

I have a '98 Chevy 3500. My running lights come on by themselves, the only way to get them off is to disconnect the neg. battery cable. I thought it might be the switch but I don't think that's the problem. They seem to come on by themselves after driving for a couple mins. :h Sometimes when I reconnect the neg. battery cable they will stay off, and sometimes not! Anbody have any ideas on how to fix this problem? I'm tired of disconnecting and connecting the battery cable everytime I go somewhere! :(

RE: California Green Sticker fees

What I don't understand is why the EVO's aren't out in force protesting land development out in the high desert here in So Cal. Building homes and mini malls destroys the desert way more than OHV does. They are building like crazy out there. Getting really close to some OHV area's to. The rais in fee's , although I don't agree with it, should be for improving or providing more OHV area's. We pay it, we get it. Let the EVO's get their own cash. Oh ya, they don't have a way to raise funding do they. Well then, they should be greatfull and thank us for their funding we give them, otherwise would they even exist???? Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Word ! :C

RE: California Green Sticker fees

Just got mine in the mail for my son's KX65, $50.00 ! It was a shock at first I'm used to seeing $25.00. go figure, pay more and get less (closed riding areas)! How in the hell are we suppose to change anything???? Everyone always says "vote" it will make a difference! Bull!!!:M People vote, laws get passed, then overturned when someone doesn't think it's fair---so much for voting!!!!
